Manage Labels

When you open a position, create an order, add an element, or a price overlay to a chart, together with a line (or lines), a label (or labels) appears on the chart. The label contains information about the position, order,
chart element, or price overlay.

You can:

  • Move labels around the chart;
  • Hide labels;
  • Show labels in the default position (in which they initially appear).

To move a label:

  • Drag it to the desired place on the chart.

To show or hide a label:

  1. Right-click the line the label of which you want to show or hide.
  2. To hide the label, in the pop-up menu, click Hide Label (for) ‘Name’, where Name is the name of the order, position, chart element or price overlay the label of which you want to hide.
  3. To show the label in the default position, in the pop-up menu, click Show Label (for) ‘Name’ in default position, where Name is the name of the order, position, chart element or price overlay the label of which you want to see in the default position.

Add a Text Label

To add a text label to a chart:

  1. Select the Label tool in one of the following ways:
    • On the toolbar, click the Add Label button.
    • In the Insert menu, click Add Label.
    • Right-click in the chart. In the pop-up menu, point to Chart Elements and then click Add Label.
    • Press T.
      * In the FX Trading Station, the command is available in the Charts menu, in the Insert sub-menu.
  2. Click the place on the chart where you want to add a label. The Add Label dialog will appear.

  3. Change the label parameters in the Parameters tab if necessary:
    • Type the label text.
    • To change the text font, select your font in the Font box.
    • To change the text color, select your color in the Text Color box.
    • To change the color of the label background, select your color in the Background Color box.

    Notes:

    • To apply the changed properties (except the name) to all further labels by default, click Set as Default.
    • To reset factory settings for the label, click the Reset button.
  4. Change the label position in the Position tab if necessary:

    • To change the price level and date and time, in which the label is placed, in the appropriate boxes, select or type the price level and date and time.
  5. Click OK.

Notes:

  • You can use the Label tool until tools timeout expires. To change tools timeout, see General Options.
  • To deselect the Label tool, do the same actions as for selecting the tool or one of the following:
    1. Right-click in the chart.
    2. Press ESC.

Change Label Properties

To change the label properties:

  1. Do one of the following:

    The Label Properties dialog will appear.

  2. Change the label properties you wish.

    Notes:

    • To apply the changed properties (except the name) to all further labels by default, click Set as Default.
    • To reset factory settings for the label, click the Reset button.
  3. Click OK.
