Add Fibonacci

To add a Fibonacci:

  1. Select the Fibonacci tool in one of the following ways:
    • On the toolbar, click the Add Fibonacci button.
    • In the Insert menu, click Add Fibonacci.
    • Right-click in the chart. In the pop-up menu, point to Chart Elements and then click Add Fibonacci.
    • Press F.
      * In the FX Trading Station, you can also select the tool in the following way:
      In the Charts menu, point to Insert, click Add Fibonacci.
  2. Click the point in the period from which the trend line will start. Through this point the line which corresponds to 1.000 Fibonacci level will go.
  3. Drag the pointer to the point in the period in which the trend line will end. Through this point the line which corresponds to 0.000 Fibonacci level will go. The Add Fibonacci dialog will appear.

  4. Change the Fibonacci levels in the Levels tab if necessary:
    • To change the set of Fibonacci levels the lines of which will be displayed, select and/or clear the appropriate checkboxes.

      Notes:

      • To select the full set of Fibonacci levels the lines of which will be displayed, click Select All.
      • To clear the selection of Fibonacci levels, click Clear All. Note that to show a Fibonacci on the chart, at least one Fibonacci level must be selected.
    • To change the style of Fibonacci level lines in the appropriate boxes, click the desired color, style and width.
    • To edit a Fibonacci level, click the appropriate row, double click the current value, type a new value in the 0.000 format and press ENTER.
    • To add a Fibonacci level, click the Add button. An empty row will be added to the table. Type a new value in the 0.000 format and press ENTER.
    • To remove a Fibonacci level, click the appropriate row in the table and click the Delete button.
    • To sort Fibonacci levels in ascending order, click the Sort button.
  5. Change the Fibonacci parameters in the Parameters tab if necessary:

    • To change the name of the Fibonacci, in the Name box type the new name.

      Note: To reset the Fibonacci name to default, click the Reset button.

    • To extend the level lines to the left, select the Extend start checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To extend the level lines to the right, select the Extend end checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To show the Fibonacci label, select the Show label checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To show the levels in the legend of the level lines, select the Show level checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To change the color of the legend level, click the desired color in the appropriate box.
    • To show the prices in the legend of the level lines, select the Show price checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To change the color of the legend price, click the desired color in the appropriate box.
  6. Change the trend line properties in the Trend Line tab if necessary:

    • To change the price level and date and time at which the trend line starts or ends, in the appropriate Rate and Date boxes, select or type the price level and date and time.
    • To show the trend line, select the Show trend line checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To change the trend line style, in the appropriate boxes, click the desired color, style and width.

    Notes:

    • To apply the changed properties (except the name) to all further Fibonacci by default, click Set as Default.
    • To reset factory settings for the Fibonacci, click the Reset button.
  7. Click OK.

Notes:

  • You can use the Fibonacci tool until tools timeout expires. To change tools timeout, see General Options.
  • To deselect the Fibonacci tool, do the same actions as for selecting the tool or one of the following:
    1. Right-click in the chart.
    2. Press ESC.

Change Fibonacci Properties

To change the properties of a Fibonacci:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Double-click any line of the Fibonacci.
    • Right-click any line of the Fibonacci. In the pop-up menu click Change Fibonacci ‘Name’ where Name is the name of the Fibonacci.
    • See Change Properties/Remove Chart Elements.

    The Fibonacci Properties dialog will appear.

  2. Change the Fibonacci levels in the Levels tab:
    • To change the set of Fibonacci levels the lines of which will be displayed, select and/or clear the appropriate checkboxes.

      Notes:

      • To select the full set of Fibonacci levels the lines of which will be displayed, click Select All.
      • To clear the selection of Fibonacci levels, click Clear All. Note that to show a Fibonacci on the chart, at least one Fibonacci level must be selected.
    • To change the style of Fibonacci level lines in the appropriate boxes, click the desired color, style and width.
    • To edit a Fibonacci level, click the appropriate row, double click the current value, type a new value in the 0.000 format and press ENTER.
    • To add a Fibonacci level, click the Add button. An empty row will be added to the table. Type a new value in the 0.000 format and press ENTER.
    • To remove a Fibonacci level, click the appropriate row in the table and click the Delete button.
    • To sort Fibonacci levels in ascending order, click the Sort button.
  3. Change the Fibonacci parameters in the Parameters tab:

    • To change the name of the Fibonacci, in the Name box type the new name.

      Note: To reset the Fibonacci name to default, click the Reset button.

    • To extend the level lines to the left, select the Extend start checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To extend the level lines to the right, select the Extend end checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To show the Fibonacci label, select the Show label checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To show the levels in the legend of the level lines, select the Show level checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To show the prices in the legend of the level lines, select the Show price checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
  4. Change the trend line properties in the Trend Line tab:

    • To change the price level and date and time at which the trend line starts or ends, in the appropriate Rate and Date boxes, select or type the price level and date and time.
    • To show the trend line, select the Show trend line checkbox. Otherwise, clear the checkbox.
    • To change the trend line style, in the appropriate boxes, click the desired color, style and width.

    Notes:

    • To apply the changed properties (except the name) to all further Fibonacci by default, click Set as Default.
    • To reset factory settings for the Fibonacci, click the Reset button.
  5. Click OK.
